“You deserve access to clean air and water, a safe and affordable place to call home, and a community that cares for you.
These are my top priorities.”
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
Recent environmental tragedies across LA and California show us the importance of prevention, preparation, and a rapid response to support impacted communities. LaMar champions clean energy and air quality initiatives that protect working-class neighborhoods—communities that are often the first and hardest hit by environmental harm.
As your representative in Sacramento, he will continue to raise the importance of preventing further environmental catastrophes and protecting residents of the 65th district from the long-term impacts of toxic pollution. In addition, LaMar is eager to support those currently impacted by environmental damages and address the need for accountability from large companies.
Every person deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.
LaMar believes housing policy should reflect the realities of working-class residents and make it easier for community members to get a home and keep it. To address this issue, he will work to cut red tape, oppose overregulation, and reduce barriers that prevent families from affording to live near their places of work.
This includes creating innovative affordability programs for working families, supporting rent control initiatives, and creating more public-private partnerships to strengthen collaboration between the housing development industry and the local District 65 community.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, the LA fires, and a groundbreaking lawsuit against LA County’s Probation Department, it’s safe to say that we have all experienced collective trauma and a shock to our cultural nervous system. LaMar reckons that we deserve to try new ways of taking care of one another and addressing the issue of public safety.
It is time to acknowledge mental health as a real thing and offer alternatives to incarceration/policing to community members experiencing a mental health crisis. Across the 65th District, dedicated initiatives are driving meaningful change—supporting residents in crisis, expanding access to vital resources, and ensuring successful reentry from incarceration into the community. We need to expand and scale community-based services like these through deeper investment and more collaborative, efficient service coordination.
As your Assembly Member, LaMar will make sure that we are investing in community-based programs and strengthening the network of care in our community. He endorses the Care First model put forth by LA County and is eager to partner with both the community and local law enforcement to strengthen public safety across the 65th district.

We have to bring jobs back to our communities and strengthen education-to-employment pipelines.
LaMar’s early experiences flipping burgers at McDonald’s and building aircraft at Douglas Aircraft, didn’t just shape his work ethic - they grounded him in the dignity of labor and the realities facing the working class. When he became a single father of three, this understanding deepened and solidified his passion to support working families across California with tangible resources.
As the 65th district includes the Port of Los Angeles, LaMar believes that we have a unique opportunity to lead California with a new wave of green jobs. As President of the San Pedro Neighborhood Council, he has demonstrated the ability to balance competing interests and develop forward-looking solutions that prioritize both economic growth and environmental responsibility.
To spark economic growth in the 65th district, LaMar proposes the creation of small-scale, clean-technology micro-factories focused on precision manufacturing and flexible production lines. His plan centers on creating high-wage, career-track jobs while building a strong local workforce and establishing reentry pipelines in partnership with educational and training institutions.
